Black Entertainment Television (BET) (1980– ) BET logo, 2012. Fair use image. Black Entertainment Television (BET) is a Viacom–owned cable network based in Washington, D.C. The cable channel is viewed in more than 90 million homes worldwide. As of 2010 it was the most prominent television network targeting young black-American audiences and was the leading provider of black American cultural and entertainment based programming.
BET Gospel is a television network in the United States that launched on July 1, 2002, and provides gospel and religious programming. The network, a spin-off of BET (Black Entertainment Television), mixes new and classic shows as well as original gospel-oriented programming. BET Gospel previously ran on an automated loop schedule.
The logo was designed by Fontsmith and uses a custom-made font suite, with font names including EFL Bold, EFL Headline, EFL Italic, EFL Light and EFL Regular. The font is a serif one, however the lesser font used since the 2019-20 season is sans-serif. The logo is also used set in different colourways.
